How Quora and Gizmodo Broaden My Reach
Transitioning into society after a quarter century in prison is a challenge. But I’ve been fortunate to find many who support me. That was the case during my journey through prison, and it has been the case since I emerged from prison in August of 2012. Chris Redlitz, a mentor of mine, suggested that I began responding to questions on Quora. I respond to questions about the prison system. A huge response from that magnificent website introduced my work to editors at Gizmodo. They then introduced me to readers of that wonderful community. This is part of the deliberate strategy I pursue. It helped me through prison and it is helping my transition into society.
